Edem Agbana, Deputy National Youth Organizer at the National Democratic Congress of Opposition, was beaten on all sides by military stationed on the Legon campus after Ayawaso Wuogon's B elections, was filed by MyNewsGh.com.

The NDC youth leader, a firefighter, was among many NDC members and officials allegedly beaten by a team of members of the official security and disguised militiamen who were supposed to be aligned with the ruling party.

Mr. Agbana, former president of the Council of University Students' Representatives of the University of Ghana, was strategically placed on the university campus by the NDC to monitor elections at all polling stations on campus.

A member of Ningo Prampram 's parliament was also violently beaten by a group of armed and masked men who stormed the Bawaleshie polling station, where Mr Sam George was an agent.

The NDC national president said that members of the armed security forces were besieging their candidate's home, which was why they could no longer guarantee the safety of "our people and our voting agents".

"We spoke with our candidate, Delali Kwesi Brempong, and he is traumatized by the incident. We also do not believe that one life should be lost in this by-election, so we withdrew from the process, "he added.

Just hours after the by-election, gunmen dressed in National Security clothing stormed the Bawalashie Presby polling station. Eyewitnesses said gunmen fired shots and attacked agents suspected of being NDC opposition agents.
