There is no doubt that Ms Lydia Alhbadan, Member of Parliament, member of the NPP, has proved to be obsolete and ignorant of the most current political, social, economic and cultural philosophies that the most progressive MPs are developing and applying.
It has been said that the level of enlightenment of a society should not be judged according to the living conditions of its most powerful members, but rather according to the conditions of the weakest.
In Ghana, it's the opposite. The NDC of Ayawaso West Wuogon can help us stop this stagnation and kleptocracy by taking a decisive step in retiring and rejecting inefficient and corrupt politicians.
The NDC needs to modernize. This means that a whole generation of politicians soiled by the NDC must give way to a new generation, more objective and better informed.
The time of meritocracy has come and is here to stay. The old and tired political nepotism practiced by the Ghanaian elite, both traditional and commercial, must give way to a more objective, merit-based system.
John Dumelo represents the face of favoritism, law and theft, and the NDC risked sinking into the political oblivion of Ayawaso West Wuogon's constituency when he mistakenly got the nod of his head to represent the party.
John Dumelo has never been an NDC activist nor a registered voter in the constituency of Ayawaso West Wuogon. It's a known fact and every party in the riding knows it perfectly. He can at best be described as a friend of former President John Mahama and he is participating in this contest under the patronage and rights.
John Dumelo should not be allowed to destroy the party's chances in the 2020 general election. He's a guy who joined the NDC 2016 campaign as a celebrity with so much money available. He had access to millions of dollars made available by the then President to solicit votes. We later learned that this ungrateful and pseudo-politician had managed to divert money from the campaign to his personal bank account and had even stolen a number of Landcruiser V8 vehicles that had been donated to him for the campaign.
It took the intervention of national security agents under the new regime to recover these vehicles from John Dumelo.
He has also been accused repeatedly of having promised marriage to women abroad and of having managed to take them thousands of dollars.
The NDC must be careful not to submit the application of Ayawaso West Wuogon to John Dumelo. The nuclear power plant will definitely have a day on the ground and not even campaign because of John Dumelo's corrupt image.
We must vote for candidates who are pure – people who are not corrupt – people who will not use their badociation with the ruling elites to put forward their own selfish and thieving agenda.
The NDC is a party composed of mbades and not of people who believe they have the right to lead, even if their hearts and minds are tainted with impunity, corruption and theft.
