The dice are thrown and the battle line drawn for a showdown on January 31st 2019 when four political parties run thumbprints of each eligible voter in the constituency of Ayawaso West Wuogon during a by-election to replace the deceased deputy of that constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko.
The four political parties running for the vacant seat are the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Progressive People's Party (PPP) and the Liberal Party of Ghana (GPL).
The contesting candidates are Ms. Lydia Seyram Alhbadan, NPP; Kwasi Delali Brempong, NDC; William Dowokpor, PPP, and Clement Boadi from LPG.
After filing their nominations, all of these parties have been leading since an aggressive campaign to conquer this seat and present a tremendous message to the Ghanaian electorate about what they have on hand, not only for the election partial, but also for the general election. of 2020.
History of the constituency
The importance of this by-election, inspired by conventional political perspectives since the advent of democracy in the Fourth Republic, could result from a direct confrontation between the NPP and the NDC.

As the political-political duo between the NPP and the NDC continues, there are two other powerful political pickers on the market.
Mr. Dowokpor is not a new face or a new name for the constituency, having already contested the CPP and later transferred his allegiance to the PPP.
Mr Dowokpor, who has been sitting for the fourth consecutive time since 2008, is seeking not less than 45% of the votes cast to win him over.
But the candidate to watch is the LPG, who among the four contenders has the advantage of age, being the youngest.
Mr. Boadi promised to bring a shock in the next election because the time has come to break the political duopoly of the NPP and the NDC.
Clearly, the election result will be a forerunner of what to expect in the 2020 general election.
A loss for the nuclear power plant could mark the government's badessment two years after its mandate and provide the opposition NDC with a tool to scale up its campaign in 2020.
Other political opinions are of the opinion that if the NPP won, the margin by which it would prevail would also play a lot for the future of the party in the next election.
