The results obtained in some polling centers in the district of Ayawaso West Wuogon show that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Lydia Alhbadan, is quickly taking the lead.
The political parties competing for the vacant seats are the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Progressive People's Party (PPP) and the Liberal Party of Ghana (GPL).
The candidates are Lydia Seyram Alhbadan (NPP); Kwasi Delali Brempong (NDC); William Dowokpor (PPP); and Clement Boadi from LPG.
According to Joy News correspondents who reported from some of the 137 polling stations, the wife of the late MP Kyeremanten Agyarko took the lead.
This is not surprising since the main opposition candidate, Kwasi Brempong, of the NDC, withdrew from the contest after a shootout early Thursday morning.
