Police said she was investigating the issue of masked men who badaulted the Ningo-Prampram MP in the by-election of Ayawaso West Wuogon on Thursday.
The men, dressed in black polo shirts and khaki pants, stormed the polling station at La Bawaleshie Elementary School where voting was underway to elect a new MP following the death of Kyeremanten Agyarko.
They would have fired shots and even slapped the Ningo-Prampram MP, Samuel George, who, in a video, seemed to question them.
The NDC reacted to the violence by withdrawing from the byelection, accusing the NPP and the president of deliberately intimidating voters and their polling agents.
But the police said men in the bucket of police pickup truck identities were being investigated.
The general director of operations at the police headquarters, Alex Mensah, told Kwesi Parker Wilson, of Joy News: "We must investigate to see if those who came were national security or police officers."

NDC President Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is seeking answers from the Inspector General of Police.

He added that throughout their meeting, the IGP could not confirm if the service had received the type of uniform that men wore at the polling station.
