He also urged the government to review the high utility rates imposed on manufacturing companies such as B5 Plus Limited.

In the short term, Thakwani said B5 Plus Limited is building the largest steel fabrication plant under the government's flagship 1D1F program.

Once completed, the mega plant will have the capacity to serve the Ghana and West Africa subregion by producing various steel products.

"Thanks to this project in a few months, we will be able to install Ghana in the construction industry," he said.

Mr Thakwani said that more than 5,000 people would get a job directly and indirectly with the opening of the manufacturing plant in a few months.
