CHELSEA's flop, Baba Rahman, is about to end his nightmarish spell at Stamford Bridge, reports said.

Marseille would have been impressed by the loan period of the left-back at Stade Reims last season.

According to rumors, Ligue 1 players are preparing a £ 5m transfer for Rahman. Chelsea officials were seen during their meeting with the sports director of Marseille, Andoni Zubizarreta.

The Blues have been desperate to unload the Ghanaian since he failed to reach the rank in 2015-16.

After 23 appearances that season under the orders of Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink, he was sent on loan to Schalke 04.

The German club gave even less time to Rahman. He left in January after two and a half years of reserve.

In the meantime, the player was replaced by Ghana and only managed to come back for the African Cup of Nations earlier this summer.

That was done in Reims, where Rahman played 11 times while the club got an impressive eighth place.

And yet, the appointment of Frank Lampard as a manager has not helped to improve the situation of the left-back at Stamford Bridge.

Although the former midfielder insisted that everyone start the campaign with a blank slate, Rahman failed to make pre-season trips to Ireland or Japan.

What makes it even more annoying for Chelsea fans that the club paid £ 14m for its services four years ago, although the £ 8m additional clauses are unlikely to have been disrupted.
