Lorenzo Insigne has clearly indicated that Naples was in the Europa League to win. "We will do everything we can to go to the end."

Napoli defeated FC Zurich 5-1 in the round of 16 and is among the favorites to win the trophy this season – 30 years after their last triumph.

"We played with good determination," Insigne told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"[Carlo] Ancelotti told us to stay focused and reach them from the beginning. We have done so and we are now confident that we can continue this European momentum.

"We have an excellent group of players here and we believe in our potential. We are working hard and I know what sacrifices we have made over the years to keep improving.

"We now have the chance to play a big trophy and we will do everything in our power to get to the end."

The Italian striker took over the duties of captain after the departure of Marek Hamsik for Dalian Yifang, but is suspended for the trip to Parma in Serie A on Saturday.

"It's unfortunate that I can not be involved but I'm sure we will produce an excellent performance," he said.

"Parma is a tough place to go and we will have to play our best football. We will think about Juventus afterwards.

"We create a lot of chances but we do not take much. This is partly our fault and we are working on all the details to improve our goals.

"We will try to rediscover our clinical advantage, but most of the time it's just a vertigo affair.

"It's a source of pride for me and I feel it's a captain's job. I've made a lot of sacrifices in my life to get [to] where I am and I am proud to have been rewarded this way. I am Neapolitan and I love this club.

"I believe that if all of us [pull] our strengths – the team and the fans together – we can achieve something important. "
