The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG) has announced its intention to start a national training and referee course starting Friday, June 21st.
The exercise involves training more coaches and technical officials as part of its Badminton in Schools program.
The training program, called the National Badminton Training and Referee Training Course in Schools, is a first level course.
According to BAG, the training program addresses physical education and technical arbitration teachers to anyone interested in developing a coaching career and technical badminton officiating.
In an interview with GNA Sports, Mr. Evans Yeboah said that the training was part of the Shuttle Time program, which aimed to develop grbadroots sport.
"Shuttle Time is a comprehensive program of badminton schools for Ghana's primary and secondary schools. Ghana Badminton Shuttle Time is the badminton program of schools and clubs of the World Badminton Federation.
This program aims to make badminton one of the most popular sports in the world in schools and clubs, "he said.
"Organizing workshops for teachers / coaches is about giving teachers, parents and club volunteers the opportunity to run workshops and implement BWF shuttle resources to become confident and competent badminton organizers. a school near you.
"Everyone should take the opportunity to register and participate in this grbadroots badminton development program in schools and communities. Get the chance to participate in an African referee course to be held here in Ghana during the World Tournament, "he added.
The training program would begin June 21-22, simultaneously in the following regions: Greater Accra (Achimota), East (Oyoko SHS), Volta (Mawuli SHS), Center (St Augustine College) and Western (GPHA Takoradi Sports Center).
It would continue from June 28 to 29 in; Ashanti (Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI)), Brong Ahafo (Sunyani SHS), North (Cultural Center), Upper West (School of the Deaf of Washington State) and Upper East (Bolgatanga SHS).
The Association stated that interested participants could register for GHC 199 on their website (ghanabadminton.org/badmintoncourse). According to BAG, registration fees include: T-shirt, material containing all resources (paper / paper copies), international certificate and 2 meals with full board.
