Barcelona denies allegation of line-up not eligible because of Chumi

Barcelona denies El Mundo's badertion that she would have played an eleventh ineligible match in the Copa del Rey against Levante last week. Chumi played for the team of Ernesto Valverde although he was suspended with Barca B.

This is a situation similar to that of Denis Cheryshev, who played when suspended and Raeal Madrid were expelled from the Copa del Rey.

However, Barcelona defends itself on the basis of a rule change in November.

El Mundo quoted Article 56.3 of the Code of Discipline, which states: "As long as the penalty is not complete with his team, he can not participate in the higher categories. The suspended player may not play in any of these teams or clubs until he has missed the number of sanctioning weeks in the category in which the offense was committed. & Quot;

However, Barca mentions the change of rule according to which the light suspensions take place in the competition in which they were acquired, the heavy ones in several competitions.
