He said that there was garbage "in every room".
The fine was only about half of what the landlord originally claimed, but Dembele's lawyer managed to negotiate a fee reduction.
"Of course, Mr. Dembele makes a lot of money, but he also has the right to be treated properly," said the prosecution.
Dembele left Dortmund in 2017 for a huge move to Barcelona of 105 million euros – and the cleaners still have work to do.
