Lionel Messi risks not being injured in the clash between the Copa del Rey and Real Madrid semifinal against Real Madrid after suffering a thigh injury in the 2-2 draw in La Liga facing Valencia.
Messi scored two goals while Barcelona had two fewer goals, but had to settle for a draw against Valencia at Camp Nou on Saturday.
Despite his performance as a game savior, Messi needed a pending treatment after having a thigh problem in the second period.
Messi returned to finish the rest of the game, but Barca coach Ernesto Valverde said, "I do not know exactly what he has.
"We will have to wait to see what the medical staff is saying.
"If he is fit, he will play Wednesday (against Real Madrid)."
However, four days before the first leg of Clasico's Copa del Rey semi-final against Barça, the Argentinian is in doubt – and could rest with a lot of big games in February.
Barça needed the genius of Messi to save a point of a tough match against Valencia.
