WASHINGTON, March 30, 2019 / PRNewswire / – Batelco Selects Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to Commercially Deploy 5G to Improve the Digital Life of Individuals, Businesses and Industries Bahrain. The national roll-out of 5G will take place in phases in key locations.
This agreement, the latest in a long and successful partnership between the two companies, will deploy Ericsson's commercial 5G hardware, including a new 5G radio (NR), mobile transport and the core network, in the Batelco network.
Ericsson's high-speed, low-latency 5G technology will help Batelco meet the growing demand for data traffic and deliver high-quality mobile and fixed wireless broadband access experiences.
Switching to 5G will bring enhanced mobile broadband to data-hungry subscribers Bahrain with huge changes in speed and low latency in mobile user experiences such as streaming, download, games, infotainment and interactivity.
