Warning! Potential spoilers for Batman / Catwoman # 5 below.
The Joker and Catwoman have bad blood. Selina Kyle has seen the Clown Prince of Crime attempt to take over Gotham and play violent mind games with her sweetheart, Bruce Wayne, on several occasions over the years. Surely she thought about how she would stop the Joker for good. In new previews for Batman / Catwoman # 2, Catwoman tells Joker how she would end her life and it’s unsurprisingly horrible.
Tom King, Clay Mann and Tomeu Morey Batman / Catwoman The series takes place over three separate timelines in the lives of Dark Knight and Selina Kyle. The first timeline features the past, where the iconic duo went from struggling to fall in love. The second timeline features the return of one of Batman’s old loves, the villainous Phantasm. The third timeline gives a glimpse into the future, where Batman and Catwoman are much older and their daughter Helena has become Gotham’s new crime fighter – where an older Selina confronts the Joker about his crimes.

In Batman / Catwoman # 1, the much older Selina meets a man in her home. She asks how her grandchildren are doing and they exchange jokes about each other’s lives. When they lean in for a hug, Selina tells the old man that she “is finally going to kill him”, as the man removes his glasses and hairpiece and he reveals himself to be an older Joker. New glimpses show how Selina plans to kill the Joker, as she bluntly tells him about her plans.
Selina doesn’t mince words, as she tells the Joker she is going to kill him “with my fingernail. I’m going to cut your neck open and watch you drain.” It would be a brutally violent death, but considering all the death and destruction the Joker has caused in Gotham and the lives of Bruce and Selina, it would be a deserved end for the monster.
Check out the rest of the issue’s previews below, which include a menacing look at Phantasm, as well as Batman and Catwoman discovering the body of one of Joker’s henchmen.
It will be exciting to see how Catwoman treats the Joker after so many years and the two have seemingly moved away from their old lives. One thing seems certain: it will be a bloody affair, and Selina is unlikely to leave the meeting with the Joker without first having her own form of revenge. Batman / Catwoman # 2 is in comic book stores this week!
