Kofi Akpaloo, founder and leader of Ghana's Liberal Party
The founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (GPL), Mr. Percival Kofi Akpaloo, said the outcome of the 2020 election would be decided by the political party that would have the best economic ideas and not the one that would have the resources abundant.
He warned the two main political parties – the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) – not to scorn the smaller parties, especially the LPG, because the party "is ready and willing to badociate them, one after the other, with the best ideas to transform the country's economy. "
"The 2020 elections will be an opportunity for the battle of ideas, and the political party that offers the best ideas will eventually win," Akpaloo said in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Accra.
He added that it had taken a lot of time and resources for the LPG to research and document ideas that had transformed the economies of most developed countries such as Canada and the United States. ;America.
"These ideas that the party brings to the 2020 elections will incite Ghanaians to choose LPG before the NPP and the NDC, and the other parties, the sooner they realize that they can not win the elections, the better it will be." for them, "said Akpaloo. I said.
Battle of Ideas
When asked why he thought the LPG would have the best ideas in the 2020 elections, he said, the party had followed some of the political and radio discussions of the two parties. It was realized that they had nothing to offer people except exchanging political insults against each other.
"The NDC is deprived of economic ideas and that is why the party uses attacks to win the hearts of voters, especially local sympathizers," Akpaloo said.
Regarding the NPP, he said that the party was struggling to implement most of its proposed economic program and that "it contributes enormously to revealing its commitment to deploy good ideas."
Addressing some of the ideas that the party believes could strengthen the country's economy, Akpaloo spoke of the legalization of marijuana, which he said could help develop the economy.
He said the ban on marijuana use was not the right way to go for developing countries such as Ghana, as this offered many economic benefits.
"What the LPG is proposing is the legalization and regulation of marijuana use to prevent people from abusing it." The marijuana industry can provide and report 10 billions of dollars a year in Ghana, "said Akpaloo.
He added that the party had done its research and developed a paper on how the country could use marijuana to boost Ghana's economy.
"Countries like Canada are making a lot of money with marijuana. It is unfortunate that in Ghana the norm is: "If you can not regulate something, forbid it".
It's very sad, "said Mr. Akpaloo.
Manufacturing sector
The other areas of party interest, he said, are the poultry industry and the manufacturing sector, adding that the party would also create an employment fund intended to create millions of jobs for young people.
"These are just some of the many ideas that the GPL intends to implement if Ghanaians give the party a chance in the 2020 elections," Akpaloo said.
The LPG leader said the party was on the eve of the 2020 final elections and was therefore not afraid of the NPP and the NDC, urging the Ghanaian electoral community to focus on the party. .
