Bawumia consoles the victims of a deadly road accident

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and second lady Samira Bawumia expressed their sincere condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in the tragic road accidents that occurred today in Ghana.

The Vice President in a tweet on Friday pleaded for the country to put in place measures to reduce the occurrence of such accidents.

"My wife @SBawumia and I extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who have suffered various types of injuries and to others who lost their lives in the tragic road accidents that occurred today. in Ghana.

"As a country, we must put in place appropriate measures to drastically reduce such incidents, we wish the wounded to be speedily restored and the souls of the deceased to rest in perfect peace."

One of the accidents occurred in Amoma Nkwanta, in the southern Kintampo district of the Bono East region, which caused about 60 deaths. According to reports, two buses from opposite directions crashed in the early hours of Friday, around 2 am, and caught fire.

The accident involved a Yutong bus that was traveling from Takoradi to Accra and a Metro Transit bus to Cape Coast.
