Bawumia donates GHS20k to every bereaved family

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia consoled the families of three people who died in Ejura in the Ashanti region.

He gave 20,000 Ghc to each bereaved family.

Dr Bawumia and National Chief Imam Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu visited the families on Friday July 2.

Several other people with gunshot wounds received 10,000 Ghanaian cedis.

Dr Bawumia, Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu and Minister of National Security Albert Kan Dapaah then visited the Traditional Council of Ejura.

The chief of Ejura was unhappy with the recent unrest in the region.

He said the Traditional Council decided to build a divisional police command building to enhance security.

The vice-president supported the project with a thousand bags of cement and 50 thousand Ghanaian cedis.

Meanwhile, the three people arrested in connection with the murder of Ibrahim Alhassan Anyars (Kaaka) have been taken into custody by the Asokwa District Court in Kumasi.

Presiding Judge Akua Adu Boahen was convinced after Chief Prosecutor Kofi Blagodzie begged the court for more time to investigate the case.

The suspects, Issaka Ibrahim aka Anyars, Fuseini Alhassan and Iddi Mohammed who is Kaaka’s brother appeared in Asokwa 1 District Court around 10:30 am on Friday July 2.

The three men were charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and murder.
