Speaking to a panel on Joy New's briefing, he added that the data and figures presented by the Vice-Chair at the plenary session were unfounded.

"The economy ended in 2012 with a budget deficit of 12.12% of GDP, 11.7% in 2013, 11.9% in 2014 before falling back to 6.7% in 2015, but rose again to reach 9.4% in 2016.

"According to Mr. Forson, the official data of the Ministry of Finance clearly indicate that the overall deficit at the end of 2016 was 7.8% of GDP, or 6.1% of the new GDP, which is false.

"Mr. Ato Forson went to the Ministry of Finance website to get an interim result to project his course that was not accurate. In fact, the figures and data provided by the Vice-President were absolute and official, "he said.
