The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, commissioned, on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, an accommodation center with a capacity of 221 people at the Academy of Service of Ghana Immigration (GIS) in Assin Fosu, Central Region.

He also commissioned a conference room with a capacity of 300 seats, a reception center for a capacity of 280 people for the training school, as well as a modern Drill Square for the GIS Academy in Assin Fosu.

These projects materialize the promise of President Akufo-Addo to reorganize the Academy.

President Akufo-Addo is committed to reorganizing school structures in order to transform it into an international academy for the subregion, when he reviewed the graduation parade of the Ninth admission of the cadets on October 25, 2017.

According to Dr. Bawumia, "the government has also purchased 150 high-performance vehicles to support the operations of the Ghana Immigration Service".

He said: "The renovation and upgrading of the Academy, as well as the essential logistics for the immigration service, but also for all other security agencies, fit into a comprehensive national effort to improve their human capital and improve its efficiency and effectiveness. "
