Bawumia Shake Dr. Bawumia will deliver a lecture at a series of lectures at the University of Oxford

Vice President, Mr. Mahamudu Bawumia, left Accra for the UK Wednesday to speak at a seminar held as part of a series of lectures at the University of New York. 39; Oxford.

The lectures are in honor of Sir Paul Collier, a renowned British economist for development, who is professor of economics and public policy at the Blavatnik School of Government and director of the International Growth Center.

Sir Paul is also Director of the Center for Studies on African Economies and faculty member of St Antony's Oxford College.

He was also Senior Advisor to the Blair Commission for Africa and was Director of the Development Research Group at the World Bank from 1998 to 2003.

Earlier this month, the Vice President left the country at the invitation of two major business universities in the United States.

He has been a keynote speaker at the annual Columbia University Economic Forum in New York, as well as at the Booth Business School's 2019 Emerging Market Summit at Chicago University.

Last month, Dr. Bawumia was the inspirational speaker at the 2019 Graduate Diploma in Human Sciences and Law at Buckingham University. He graduated with honors in economics from the same university in 1987.

Dr. Bawumia returns to Accra on Saturday.
