Well, it seems that the service can finally get the green light from the Ofcom regulator to allow emissions to stay on the site for 12 months instead of 30 days.
The regulator has given "tentative" approval to the changes as the BBC attempts to compete with competing streaming services such as Netflix and NOW TV.

Ofcom said that "with time", the changes "could generate significant value for the public", but will make their final decision in August.
"It's good news for the public to be able to watch BBC iPlayer for a year, as well as complete boxes of titles and programs selected from the BBC archives," the BBC said in a statement.
"This will give viewers more value for their license fees and allow us to better meet their growing expectations.
"Limiting the BBC to have programs on iPlayer for 30 days makes more sense in a world where global streaming services can offer an unlimited number of box boxes as long as they wish.
"We hope that Ofcom will now be able to quickly confirm its decision so that it can begin to give license payers the iPlayer BBC they want and deserve."

Although newsletters, sports reports and other programs that must be removed for legal or editorial reasons are removed within 30 days, fortunately many programs have been available for a year or more, such as Kill Eve and dynasties
However, other times vary, with new popular series Years and years currently only available for three months – so it will be fine for a consistent length in all areas.
