Papa Owusu Ankomah, Ghana's High Commissioner for the United Kingdom, has commissioned Ghanaians studying at British universities to act as agents of Ghana's economic independence.

Mr. Ankomah challenged students to put the skills, habits and experience acquired in UK educational institutions at the disposal of Ghana's development program, which would be essential to the realization of the dream "Ghana Beyond Aid".

The High Commissioner revealed this in his welcome address addressed to Ghanaian students in the United Kingdom at the first national conference of the National Union of Ghanaian Students' Associations in the United Kingdom (NUGSA) last Saturday, said a statement from the information section of the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom.

"You have been around the best of China, Malaysia and other developed countries while you study in the UK and this puts you in the shoes of the transformation we need so much at home," he said. the High Commissioner.

He advised students to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, such as Presidents Kwame Nkrumah, JA Kufour, Nana Akufo-Addo, among others, who returned to Ghana after their studies in the UK and contributed immensely to the development of the Ghana.

"The doors of the High Commission are always open and the staff is ready to help you make your studies more comfortable and help you settle in Ghana," he added.
