Sunyani, July 17, GNA – Mr. Albert
Kan-Dapaah, the Minister of National Security, reminded reporters:
more circumspect in their reporting on national security issues.

He asked that they should at all times put
peace and security of the country before any other consideration.

In doing so, he added, was in the supreme
interest of every Ghanaian.

The Minister, who was interacting with a
a media section in Sunyani, expressed his discomfort with the unbridled population
discussion of national security issues in the media and not too subtle
the politicization of these discussions.

He warned that this development was not
useful to the stability of the nation and should not continue.

Mr. Kan-Dapaah applauded the formidable
contribution of the media to the growth of democracy and national democracy
socio-economic development.

He said, however, that journalists should not do
anything that could undermine faith in institutions charged with
to make sure everyone was safe.
