The president of the Ghana Association of Journalists urged media professionals to urgently strengthen their sense of security against the dangers of the land after the horrific murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

Speaking before the media at a memorial held on Friday to immortalize the murdered investigative journalist of the Tiger PI team, Mr. Affail Monney noted with gravity that the murder of the Tiger PI team, Ahmed Suale was an appeal to journalists to "reinforce their sense of security" because their lives matter and are worth more than their stories.

"As long as we expose corruption, as long as we hold people to account, our lives will be in danger. This reinforces the need for all of us to be vigilant … to reinforce our sense of security … and your life is worth more than your stories. "

No discrimination of GJA

Mr. Monney also responded to critics who disputed the fact that the GJA badisted Ahmed, who was not a registered body member. He stated that the GJA was affiliated and modeled on the International Federation of Journalists, an organization that does not distinguish between registered and non-registered members.
