Apple's Beas brand is expected to release a fully wireless version of its Powerbeats Wireless headset soon. The upgraded headphones will be similar to the AirPods because there is no cable between them.
Apple will not sacrifice its own sales of AirPod because Powerbeats are designed for training, running and other sports activities. AirPods are not really designed for that.
The newly updated AirPods, released this week by Apple, feature an updated H1 chip that allows for faster failover from one device to the other, faster connections during calls, taking more time. charge "Hey Siri" and a longer talk time. This chip should also be included in Powerbeats updates.
The W1 chip, used by Apple in the previous version of the AirPod, has also been integrated into the Beats headset.
CNET reports that the information comes from a source that has provided reliable information on Apple projects in the past. Compared to the AirPods, the next Powerbeats could offer better water resistance as well as the ability to stay in the ear during sports activities. The cost of powerbeats is not known. It is unclear whether there will be more updates of headsets in the pipeline that will be announced simultaneously with the Wireless Powerbeats, but Beats has not introduced any significant updates since the launch.
