A current exam candidate for the Basic Education Certificate (BECE) pointed the odds and took her six-week-old baby with him to take the exam that began Monday in all over the world. country.

The candidate (undisclosed name), a student in one of Ashanti's Sekyere Central high schools, was among the 1,144 candidates enrolled in this year's BECE in the district, but subsequently became pregnant.

This was announced when the Ghana News Agency joined Mr. Kwadwo Banahene Bediako, District Director (DCE), and Mr. Anthony Maxwel Amoako, Director of District Education, to visit some of the examination centers.

Undeterred to take the exam, she asked for the help of her grandmother who accompanied her to the Kwamang SHS exam center to provide care at the time of the drafting of documents.

The grandmother was seen strolling around the center with her six-week-old grandson strapped to her back.

Three pregnant candidates were also seen during the examination.

Mr. Anthony Maxwel Amoako, district director of education, who confirmed these figures to the GNA, said that 14 registered candidates were absent on the first day of the exam.

They were composed of 10 boys and 4 girls from 47 schools registered in the district to take the exam in seven centers.

Mr. Kwadwo Banahene Bediako encouraged the candidates to do their best and to refrain from any form of misconduct that could lead to the cancellation of their results.

The WFD urged them to work tirelessly to allow them to take advantage of the government's free SHS.

He presented boxes of mineral water and non-alcoholic beverages to the supervisors of all the centers he visited.
