BECE candidates invited to comply with the regulations of the examination

Dr. Hafiz Bin-Salih, Regional Minister of the Upper West West, went to Wa Municipal Test Centers to encourage candidates and review officials at this year's Basic Education Certification Exam (BECE).

He visited WA High Schools, the WA Technical Institute and the Wa Methodist School for the blind and said he was satisfied with the peaceful conduct of the ongoing examination.

He encouraged the candidates to pbad the exams with courage and openness in order to allow them to stand out with flying colors in order to benefit from free high school for Ghanaian children.

Dr. Bin-Salih said the government is doing its best to improve educational standards to make life more comfortable for the younger generation.

He advised candidates to get rid of any foreign material while complying with the rules and regulations of the exam.

The Minister was accompanied by the Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) of the Upper West and representatives of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the National Association of Teachers of Ghana (GNAT).

A total of 13,113 candidates were enrolled in the BECE 2019 in the region, while 3,004 candidates in the municipality of Wa, including 1,397 boys and 1,607 girls, participated in the exams.

The GES Regional Director, Mr. Duncan Nsoh, was pleased that GES officials have been serious about the well-being of students.

He was also optimistic that the visits of the regional minister to various centers would help improve the morale of the candidates.

Salifu Ismail Muhamud, deputy director of Wa High School, said that the visit was a demonstration of goodwill on the part of officials and that the examination material was intact and that adequate security was in place for the peaceful conduct of the examination.
