Anthony Annan For Hjk Anthony Annan could leave Beitar Jerusalem

Israeli club Beitar Jerusalem is expected to release Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan at the end of the season, confirmed GHANAsoccernet.com.

Annan signed a six-month contract with the club in February on a free transfer after completing her three-year stint with Finnish champion HJK Helsinki at the end of last term.

The former Hearts of Oak player had to use his experience to help his team reach their goal of football competition in Europe.

However, the performance of the 32-year-old did not meet the expectations of the club's hierarchy, which therefore seeks to unload him in the summer.

For its part, the club wants to keep the French midfielder Ange-Freddy Plumain, who has established itself as a vital cog since his arrival at Hapoel Hadera during the transfer in January.

Annan has played for clubs like Rosenborg BK, Schalke 04, Vitesse, Osasuna HJK and many others.

He was part of the team that qualified Ghana for their first appearance at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Annan has ambaded 67 caps for Ghana's senior national team and scored two goals.
