Lemon juice has a number of health benefits, due to its high content of vitamin C and potassium. Adding lemon juice to your diet regularly could be the key to helping you lose weight or even lowering your risk for diabetes.
Lemons are one of the most common types of citrus fruits, and their juice is typically used while cooking.
But adding more lemon juice to your cooking may be more beneficial than just improving the taste.
It has been used as a natural health hack for centuries, due to its antibacterial properties.
Lemons are also rich in vitamin C, calcium, potassium, and folic acid, all of which provide helpful benefits to the body.
“There is more to lemons than it looks,” said US health care provider UPMC.
“This fruit may go well with some of your favorite foods, but it also offers incredible health benefits.
“Lemons are packed with nutrients, promote weight loss, and have even been linked to preventing kidney stones.”

Kidney stones
You could reduce your chances of developing kidney stones by adding more lemon juice to your diet, the UPMC added.
The juice prevents a build-up of calcium, which would otherwise lead to kidney stones.
“Lemon juice has been shown to help prevent kidney stones by increasing urine citrate levels,” he said.
“Citrate binds to calcium, which helps prevent kidney stones from forming.”
