Kieran Tierney is suffering from an injury that could prevent him from playing up to eight weeks.
The left back hurts himself in the groin and belly every time he hits a ball – and he played no role in Celtic's 7-0 win over St Johnstone today on the first day of the Scottish Premier League.
Hoop boss Neil Lennon said, "He is still injured and is being treated.
"He had a double hernia and he still has the problem of osteitis pubis, so it's a slow burner."
The Scottish star may now be away for three to eight weeks.
