In Marvel’s new Beta Ray Bill series, the new romance of the alien Korbinite in the comics could happen in the MCU every time he makes his screen debut.
Warning! Spoilers ahead for Beta Ray Bill # 1
In the new from Marvel Comics Beta Ray Bill series, the korbinite warrior and trusted ally of Thor is shining in the Marvel Universe, and her new romance could also find its way into the MCU. When and if the fan-favorite character makes his screen debut, it’s quite possible his relationship with Lady Sif and new development in the comics could explain where Sif has been since. Thor: The Dark World.
In The MCU, Jaime Alexander’s Lady Sif was a friend and ally of Thor’s alongside the Warriors Three (Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun). However, while she appeared in the first and second Thor films (as well as two episodes of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD), Sif was missing Thor: Ragnarok. While this was due to the actress having scheduling conflicts, it meant that Sif herself was not on Asgard when Hela killed off a massive portion of Asgard’s forces, including the Warriors Three. As such, Lady Sif has been confirmed to be still alive somewhere in the Marvel Universe, and her connection to Beta Ray Bill could explain where she has been all this time.

While Sif and Bill have had a strong bond in the comics for a long time, Beta Ray Bill # 1 by Daniel Warren Johnson and Mike Spicer is the first time the couple got romantic (or at least tried to be). Sadly, Thor’s recent betrayal of Bill by shattering his Stormbreaker hammer left him unable to regain his humanoid form, leaving him stranded as a horse-headed alien cyborg (putting the brakes on his attempts to take the next step) in his relationship with Sif.). However, the fact that they’ve started a relationship is exciting as it could potentially be the perfect explanation for Sif’s situation in the MCU, as well as provide a way for Bill to fit into his current myth of Thor.
While a future Beta Ray Bill appearance in the MCU has yet to be confirmed, there have been teases and Easter eggs in the previous films, with the hope being that his debut will potentially occur in 2022. Thor: Love and thunder. Likewise, fans also want to know what happened to Sif (who is confirmed for the fourth Thor film), so why not make them appear together as a couple?
Either way, Beta Ray Bill is now gone to forge his own path and destiny in his new series, seeking to replace his hammer in order to restore himself and leave. Thor the shadow, from which he felt he had never really been able to escape. Whether or not he finds a replacement weapon, hopefully Beta Ray Bill will return to Asgard soon to develop their new romance in the comics, allowing the MCU to potentially create a dynamic synergy with future films.
