Here we are again. Two seventy-year-old adults bicker on Twitter. One is singer / actress and the other is the leader of the free world. Both are New Yorkers and have more than a million Twitter followers. Send the kids to another room – Bette Midler and President Trump tweet each other.
Bette Midler is not a newcomer who is trying to criticize Trump by using his Twitter account. It has been doing this since 2012. Last week, a new battle began when Midler re-tweeted a credited quote from President Trump. As one would expect, the president responded and eventually called Midler "a psychopath". Gauntlet let go, Midler picked it up and ran with it. She described this coming and going as her "personal battle with the Ardennes". Many supporters came to her defense and she thanked them.
Midler, who won the Emmy, Grammy and Tony awards, was in the throes of her last Trump tirade Monday, when she mistakenly tweeted a manufactured quote attributed to the billionaire.
You know, the line in which he would have claimed that he never ran for president, he would do it as a Republican because "they are the most stupid group of voters in the country". (His original tweet has since been deleted.)
I would like to thank all those who came to my defense last night in my personal battle against the Ardennes with the one who should not be named. Your spirit and good nature have really raised my spirits; As a newly washed psychopath, I am very grateful for your thoughts and prayers.

Midler says that she believed the fake tweet because "it looks so much like him". Maybe, but that could have been easily one of his tweets. She is not a fan of the conservatives.
Since then, the speech has not been improved. That seems worse than in 2012, while his exploits against Trump seemed light in comparison. In 2012, she tweeted about cutting her hair and tying it to the hood of a car.
In 2012, before Trump officially entered the political arena, Midler had called the New York real estate developer "architect of the West Side ruin" on Twitter and had declared that 39 "he deserved to be held in check and his hair cut or tied". on the roof of the car!
This criticism did not go unnoticed and Trump reacted by tweeting harsh words about Midler's appearance ("an extremely unattractive woman"), his own politically correct and double standards.
The big party of the president organized on July 4th triggered his departure. His Twitter feed shows many tweets mocking his speech, especially when he had trouble due to a faulty teleprompter.

#TrumpSpeechFail Trump says he messed up his speech on July 4 because the teleprompter fell into the trap. "It's not a pleasant feeling." Still, it's probably no worse than being badually badaulted by a low IQ drink.

Then Midler dragged Melania Trump there. On July 6, she tore up the first lady's dress. Considering some of Midler's professional encounters, it took a bit of chutzpah.
expensive @realDonaldTrumpThe 4th of July fireworks I paid off delighted everyone except you! I guess you're just thrilled with other despots and cruelty to little creatures like kids … By the way, Melanie was fabulous in her Mexican folk dress! xoBette #BeBest #BeBette pic.twitter.com/OwwI6qvmch

The dress was made by Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera, naturalized citizen of the United States. Perhaps Midler thought he was good at calling this dress a Mexican folk dress. Others wondered if it was a nod to the gay pride since it was a white dress with rainbow stripes, and no traditional red, white and blue colors. The New York Times went so far as to qualify her provocative dress code choice against her husband's anti-LGBTQ agenda. Trump is the most gay-friendly Republican president to date, but the reality is irrelevant to a liberal speech aimed at criticizing all Republicans as anti-LGBTQ.
Because Ms. Trump does not work with designers to create her mainstream looks, but buys them (a rarity nowadays among public figures and a good thing), they rarely know when she'll wear one of their products. why – or so, Wes Gordon, the artistic director of Herrera, I confided after Ms. Trump wore a dress of the brand during her recent trip to Japan. As a result, the labels themselves can not shed more light on whether there is a more nuanced justification behind Mrs. Trump's choices than the simple love of a pretty summer dress. (The Herrera dress in question this time came from the 2019 Resort Collection and was on sale for $ 1,884 on FarFetch.com.)
But you should have lived under a rock for a month for not being met, pretty much everywhere you shot, with a rainbow-striped paraphernalia created to support the month of pride and celebration. LGBT campaign community. Even the president's campaign store was selling rainbow striped t-shirts. Symbolism could not escape the office of the first lady or his stylist, Hervé Pierre.
On July 7, Midler discussed the commotion caused by the disclosure of memos by the United Kingdom's ambbadador to the United States.
expensive @realDonaldTrumpAs a friend who travels the world for over 50 years, do not be fooled by the ever-polished British. America first called you an inept shitgibbon! UNITED STATES! UNITED STATES! UNITED STATES! xoBette #BeBette https://t.co/NB2XLNhCjD

And she tweeted about the arrest of Jeffrey Epstein. Like the rest of the NeverTrump crowd, she's waiting for Trump to be dragged into the ongoing lawsuit against Epstein.
It's Trump, agree. #GrowUpAmerica https://t.co/hoSTqB4Xl5

Maybe someone should check Ms. Midler and make sure she is fine. Some days she only talks about Trump. Maybe a nice walk to the outside or a yoga session would help. It's five more years for her.
