Danny Ings returned to haunt his former club on Monday night as the Southampton striker scored the only goal to continue his sensational form since leaving Liverpool in 2018.
The 28-year-old has scored 40 goals in 81 appearances for the Saints with such form that earned him a recall from England earlier this season.
After signing for Liverpool from Burnley, Ings made his England debut in October 2015, just months after his stint at Anfield, when he became a substitute in a 3-0 win over Lithuania within days of penalty after Jurgen Klopp’s nomination as Reds. director.
