Black Satellites lost to Mali in their last match
Ghana failed to qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup after losing its last group match to the Africa Cup of Nations Total U-20 in Niger on Saturday.
The former world champions were beaten 1-0 by the Eagles at Stade Général Seyni Kountché in Niamey.
The result also means that former African champions will not participate in the semi-finals of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mali won the match with a second-half Hadji Drama strike. The satellites were blowing and blowing but could not grasp the equalization, which would have been enough to see them go through.
Mali has therefore reserved its place at the World Cup and also qualifies for the Afcon semi-finals, joining Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa.
Ghana is the only African country to have won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009, but the last time that they qualified for the world show, it was in 2015.
