Blakk Rasta is a household name in Ghana and on the continent having achieved huge success with his many Pan-African songs and messages. Bobi Wine, since 2017 has become a strong force musically and politically in Uganda and, in the world.
He is the one most people think he won in Uganda’s 2021 presidential elections, a victory usurped by Yoweri Museveni, 76, who has ruled Uganda for 35 years.
Blakk Rasta is disgusted by the dictatorial nature of Museveni whose regime has become synonymous with extrajudicial executions, authority, corruption and terror.
Against this backdrop, the Kuchoko legend teamed up with his pan-Africanist friend Bobi Wine, officially known as Robert Ssentamu Kyagulani, to record a hard-hitting hymn for the youth uprising in Uganda.
The song, Bloody Museveni, is rich in melody and instrumentation. The guitars stand out and they mix reggae with Makosa injecting rock trumpets to vibrate the soft feminine harmonies that serenade the angry voices of the two militant soldiers. HotMix did the production and mixing.
“When two of Africa’s most militant artists meet, hell is a BIG joke,” said Blakk Rasta. “Wherever Africa needs our attention, we don’t hesitate to seize the opportunity. Jah know!”
Blakk Rasta made a song for peace and equal rights in Cameroon just over a month ago called Cameroon. He has recorded a number of these songs for Nigeria and other African countries speaking out against injustice and corruption. Americans were not spared by his weight as he descended on Donald Trump with Dumb Trump already having achieved worldwide success with Barack Obama, a song that launched his international notoriety.
Bloody Museveni will make you rehearse for several hours. It never gets boring. Uganda continues with a hymn that will be remembered for centuries, especially that Bobi Wine threatened an uprising, ahead of the election, if Museveni rigged the 2021 election.
