The Catholic Church has officially blessed a new iOS app called Confession, which allows followers to keep track of their sins. No, I do not invent anything!

The $ 1.99 application was created by a group called Little iApps and was approved by Bishop Kevin Rhoades of the Diocese of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He guides Catholics in the examination of their sins. So when they visit a real priest for the rite of penance in a real church, they are ready for the test.

The app guides users through each of the 10 commandments, where they can check a box if they have coveted their neighbor's ox or murdered someone.

The application also serves as a cheat sheet for what sinners are supposed to say in the confessional. For example, when the priest says "Thank the Lord, he is good," the application asks the user to say, "His mercy endureth for ever."

It even has a database listing acts of contrition and prayers.

The confession works on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
