Documents released by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on April 16 reveal that the Texas-based cybersecurity firm, Forcepoint, has been granted a blockchain patent.

Forcepoint is owned by Raytheon (NYSE :), a US defense contractor, and Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm, and Crunchbase estimates its annual revenue at $ 600 million.
