Murphy wasted Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's center after the break and Kelly blocked the winger's attempt again as Cardiff put tremendous pressure.
Reid then pbaded the ball to Kenneth Zohore, but the substitute's shot was blocked by Guaita.

Cardiff paid the price for those missed opportunities when Townsend crossed the center line, broke into Joe Bennett and beat Etheridge by 20 meters by the near post.
Mendez-Laing provided further evidence that it was not Cardiff's day, or the season, when he had not beaten James McArthur on the goal line and Guaita was pushing the post further.
Reid bought his beauty from death but Cardiff was down, with Palace adding Hull, Stoke and Huddersfield as supporters they relegated in recent seasons.
