GOOD MORNING BLUES FANS

Thomas Tuchel faces Burnley today in his second game as Chelsea boss.

The German started life in London with a 0-0 draw against Wolves midweek.

And he is under no illusions about how to keep his job after a discussion with Chelsea boss Marina Granovskaia.

He said: “She made it very clear to me that if you sign for Chelsea you have to win trophies, definitely compete for trophies.

“We can just admit it – at this level nobody is going into a competition to be second. No one.

“There were even managers who won titles and were sacked. One is sitting in front of you right now. It happened to me around Christmas.

“It’s like that at the end. What everyone is looking for is a nice guy, a tough guy, a guy who won a trophy. . . I do not know . . . a handsome guy, a funny guy. That does not exist.

“At some point, I hope I’m the guy who can be the hallmark of an era and a certain period in this club.

Tuchel also warned his German rival Jurgen Klopp: I’m going to knock you off your perch.

He said, “Let’s try to make it a little more complicated for him.

“I’m not sure I should set my goal for myself, because he’s Jurgen and he’s found his place to be like he did with Dortmund.

“People love him, fans love him, his team love him and he has the results for that.

“But we’re starting right away, to close the gap and take away some of his points and his reputation.

“With all due respect and friendship, of course.
