Bodyguard star Richard Madden has spoken out against the "unrealistic" demands he and his fellow actors face in terms of body weight and body image.
"I have done many jobs where you are told to lose weight and go to the gym," he told British Vogue.
"It does not only happen to women, but also to men all the time."
His comments follow the recent admission of singer Sam Smith on Instagram that he had "used to starve for weeks" before the photo shoots.
His revelation accompanied a photo of himself shirtless, he said that he had decided to post to try to "recover" his body.

Madden said that his friends and the actor himself had complained about what was "barely eaten, who trained twice a day and did not wince" required for some scenes.
He said that they would find themselves "looking at each other:" We are just feeding the same [expletive] that we are against "
Madden, whose other roles include Robb Stark in Game of Thrones and the Prince in Cinderella, said he sometimes received restrictive costumes that made breathing difficult.
We will then see the Scottish actor in Rocketman, a musical biopic about Sir Elton John with Taron Egerton.
Madden is not the only one to stress the pressures on the modern leader.
Last month, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth – who should soon see his role in Thor in Avengers: Endgame – admitted staying fit for the camera "may begin to become a drag".
"The roles I've badumed have shaped my physique," he told Men's Health. "It goes with the parts I play.
"But from time to time, I see paparazzi coming out of the bushes and I say to myself:" How is my platform? Am I at the point where I recently relaxed? "
Avengers: Endgame will be available in the UK on April 25th.
