Boeing excuses "too small," says pilot's father | General news

Boeing's apology for last month's fatal Ethiopian Airlines crash came too late, said the pilot's father to the BBC.

"Too little, too small" is the verdict of Getachew Tessema.

He also criticized the "unpleasant comments" of the American newspapers at the time of the accident and said that previous comments from a Boeing employee, according to which Ethiopian Airlines personnel were inexperienced, were equivalent to to a "murder of character".

Dr. Getachew claims that his son, Captain Yared Getachew, "was only 29 years old and had a promising future and that his life was shortened," but did not regret his choice to become a pilot because he served honorably and "died in the performance of his duties".

He called for the creation of a memorial on the crash site.
