Breakdown of the various notes and coins issued
Based on the central bank's financial data, there were 4.6 billion ¢ 50 ¢ notes in circulation and 4.5 billion ¢ ¢ 20 cedis. In addition, there were ¢2.5 billion 10 ¢ notes in circulation, 1.2 billion 5 cedi notes and 27 million 1 cedi notes.
In total, this represents approximately 13.4 billion ¢ of the value of the notes issued.
As regards coins, 27.1 million ¢ 1 coin were issued, ie 70.9 million coins of 0.50 pesos and 60.2 million ¢ 0.20 pesos were also made public.
In addition, 34 million ¢ of 0.10 ¢ pesa and 9.8 million ¢ of 0.05 ¢ pesa and 1 million coins of 0.01 pesa were issued.
In total, $ 213 million worth of coins were put into circulation last year.
