Queen and Adam Lambert will perform at the Oscars 2019 after the success of Bohemian Rhapsody.
The biopic Queen is nominated for the best film and many other awards at the ceremony. Star Rami Malek is the favorite for the Best Actor award for her portrayal of leader Freddie Mercury.
The Academy confirmed via Twitter that the iconic rock band would perform with new leader Adam Lambert at the ceremony.
The Academy tweeted: "Is this real life? Is this a fantasy? We welcome @QueenWillRock and @adamlambert for #Oscars this year!"
The news will be well received by fans of the musical film that has become the most profitable musical biopic of all time, despite a very mixed critical reception and controversy involving the production of the film.
Lambert has been touring with Queen since 2012 and when the news of the Oscar performance was released, he tweeted, "We're going to rock the Oscars."
The musician also played a role in Bohemian Rhapsody as the man who caught Mercury's attention, but you may have missed it.
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga will perform on stage to sing their single Shallow of A Star is Born, nominated for Best Original Song.
Jennifer Hudson will also sing the nominated song "I'll Fight" from the RBG documentary, with David Rawlings and Gillian Welch performing the nominated "When A Cowboy Trades Her Spurs For Wings" from the Ballad of Buster Scruggs, as well surprise addition of Bette Midler singing. The place where go things lost from the Disney suite, Mary Poppins Returns.
It was interesting to see how the series unfolds, given their recent imbalance showing certain categories in commercial breaks, the entire ceremony being broadcast live after a reaction.
