Large numbers of armed Boko Haram terrorists stormed Tarmuwa, the seat of the Babangida local government area in Yobe state, on Sunday evening.
According to sources, insurgents armed with anti-aircraft trucks and grenades sporadically fired at security formations and communities, sparking a pandemonium as residents rushed to safety.
Tarmuwa is a local government area in the state of Yobe, its seat is in the city of Babangida at 12 ° 06`27N ”N11 ° 45’14 ″ E.
The city has witnessed a series of deadly Boko Haram attacks in the past.
The fleeing residents who do not want their names mentioned told our correspondent that the whole town was in the midst of a pandemonium and people were running in disorder.
Yobe State Emergency Management Agency Executive Secretary Dr Mohammed Goje, in a phone call with Vanguard, confirmed the latest attack on Tarmuwa by suspected terrorists this evening, but did not could not have details of the number of victims at the time of publication.
His words: “Yes I got a distress call from one of my collaborators tonight that armed terrorists invaded the town of Tarmuwa, please give me time to get details, so that I can provide you ”. said Goje.
