Alan Browne (second from right) unlocked stalemate to give Preston a 1-0 lead in the first period

Preston extended his unbeaten run to five league games and extended Bolton's tough wait for a win in the process.

Alan Browne gave the advantage to Preston who found the back of the net with a low shot late in the first period, after being badociated with Tom Barkhuizen.

Barkhuizen doubled the visitors' lead in the second half when he ran up to Sean Maguire's ball before mowing Remi Matthews.

Clayton Donaldson scored a consolation in the 90th minute for Bolton after Callum Connolly headed to the other side's goal before Josh Magennis was denied a stoppage equalizer shortly afterwards by saving Declan Rudd.

Bolton's last league win was against Rotherham on Dec. 26.

More soon.
