Bradley Cooper revealed that he was annoyed by the lack of nomination of the best director at this year's Oscars.

The actor-director received a nomination for best actor at the Oscars for his role as distressed rock star, Jackson Maine, in A Star is Born, but failed to get a sign of Assent for the best director.

Among the nominees are favorites Alfonso Cuarón (Rome), Yorgos Lanthimos (The favorite) Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman), Adam McKay (Vice) and Pawel Pawelowski (Cold War).

Speaking with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations from Times Square , the director opened up about his feeling of failure vis-à-vis the snub.

"I was embarrbaded," admitted Cooper, "I was in a cafe in New York City and I watched my phone and Nicole [Caruso, publicist] I've congratulated and said why we had been appointed.

"They did not even announce the bad news."

He admitted to having felt that the blame lay with him: "I was embarrbaded because I felt that I had not done my job."

Whatever the case may be, the film still managed to get awards for the best film, the best suited script and the aforementioned category of best actor, as well as for the best original song, for which Cooper is credited for all.

Her main actress, Lady Gaga, is also nominated for Best Actress for her famous tour as a rising star in the movie Ally.

The film is the favorite to win the best original song for his single, Shallow, but is not considered a favorite for other categories.

Bradley Cooper and Gaga also have to get together on stage to sing the song at the 91st Academy Awards ceremony.

The 91st Academy Awards will be held on February 24th.
