Brazil and PSG star Neymar deny accusations that he raped a woman in a Paris hotel

The Brazilian star of Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil, Neymar, denied the rape charges, claiming that he had been the victim of an extortion attempt by a lawyer claiming to represent the women that he allegedly badaulted.

Neymar would have been intoxicated at his hotel, the Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe, on May 15, before becoming aggressive and violent before raping her.

This woman was shaken by the experience and returned to Brazil on May 17. His complaint was filed last Friday in Sao Paulo.

A statement issued by Neymar's management on its website indicates that the 27-year-old striker has completely dismissed the charges.

The woman told the police that Neymar had arrived at the hotel that night "apparently drunk" and that they had spoken and "toyed".

"However, at one point, Neymar became aggressive and, through violence, practiced badual intercourse against the will of the victim," says the police report.

The woman told the police that she had returned home to Brazil two days later without informing the French police of this alleged rape because she was "emotionally upset and was afraid to record the facts in a other country".

Neymar's father, Neymar Sr., had already told local Brazilian television that the charges were a trap and that his son would be posting social media conversations with his accuser, if necessary.

But this is another blow to Neymar, who was denied last week's captain of the Brazilian national team before the Copa America tournament, replaced by Dani Alves.

Earlier in May, Neymar was banned from the French Football Federation for three matches for hitting a supporter after PSG defeated Rennes in the Coupe de France final.

He was also involved in a fitting room with his teammates.
