In Brazil, the State of Bahia has launched a blockchain app to track the process of public bidding on public markets, according to a report released by Cointelegraph Brazil on July 12.

The blockchain-based solution, called Online Bid Solution (SOL), was developed by Cayenne Technology and Design. The offers would apparently be totally transparent and secure thanks to the application of blockchain technology.

According to the Government of Bahia, the beneficiaries targeted by the SOL seem to be the Brazilian agricultural sector. The solution is designed to help agricultural organizations in Bahia connect with suppliers and workers throughout Brazil, as well as to ensure the transparency of the bidding process. The state of Bahia said that it was expected that more than 1,000 organizations are using SOL:

"The app, already available on the Play Store and on the Apple Store, will be used by about 1,100 badociations and agricultural cooperatives in the states of Bahia and Rio Grande do Norte, as part of Bahia Productive and Governo Cidadão, financed by a loan agreement between the state governments and the World Bank. "

As previously reported by Cointelegraph, the Brazilian coffee cooperative Minasul has announced its intention to issue a blockchain to coffee growers. Farmers would be able to earn tokens as a reward for harvesting coffee beans and use the proceeds of the sale to buy various products. This is a useful economic system for farmers, as this method of financing does not require registration with the notary.
