BCancer screening in pets is expected to start at age 35 for women at risk, to screen thousands of cases earlier and save lives, experts said.
In a major new trial, annual mammograms in younger women detected the disease when the tumors were much smaller and before the cancer spread, giving patients a better chance of survival.
According to current NHS guidelines, women are not routinely screened before the age of 40, but during testing, an additional 86,000 women would be screened each year.
The government needs to revisit current screening guidelines and charities urge them to start mammograms earlier for people with a family history of illness.
