Some residents of Breman attacked the Asikuma police station in the central region after the death of a suspect in custody.

The Central Region Police Command condemned Wednesday's attack and said the death did not result from any police action.

The suspect complained of dizziness and died later after being rushed to Asikuma hospital for treatment, according to regional policeman PRO, Irene. Oppong.

"During treatment at the hospital, the suspect died. Regional Police Command wants to badure the general public that all investigations will be conducted to determine the cause of death, "she said.

She also urged residents to be patient and wait for the end of the investigation.

The arrest took place after police raided a square of a coconut plantation on Mbra Street in Asikuma, an alleged hiding place for criminals

Three people: Kwesi Ennim, 33, Abotsi Omaru, 18, and Kwaku Botwe, 40, were arrested with quantities of dried leaves suspected of being narcotics.

Kweku Botwe, the deceased suspect, complained of vertigo in detention before his death.

It is unclear how the news spread but angered the inhabitants of the cities besieging Asikuma police station by waving and demanding the release of the two stones thrown against the policemen.
